Random April

Well, Spring is in full swing here in Arizona. The kids continue to love their chickens. They boys have become, what I call, chicken whisperers. It's weird.

Zach's restaurant opened again. He posted hours this time, but then had to change them, since he's at school during most of these hours...
 Just wating for customers...
 The menu...

I took the kids to a new spot on the Rim Trail and we found a fun little sand dune. I think most of it found it's way into my car too...Oh the sand...

We participated in the "Page Attacks Trash" initiative. This town has LOTS of trash along the roads and it always makes me feel better to feel like we're doing just a little to decrease it. It's good to see so many people come out and try to make our town look a little better.

First Boat Trip of the Year!

Zach has been so excited to get out on the boat. He walked by the boat the other day and said he even loves the smell of the boat. I totally get that! He clearly is in his happy place in this picture...
Mainly it was a fishing trip...

 Playing cards while Josh fished...
These crazies got out on the tube!!! I guess boating season has really started!

 Until next time...

We Have a Teenager!!

Whitney turned 13 this month and we did a little celebrating. I didn't get many pictures, but you'll just have to trust me that it was great! I love that even though she's a teenager, she's not too cool to still have a "blankie" (lamb blanket).

Whitney LOVES playing the piano and can be found at least once a day just playing song after song. I don't even have to nag her to play!
 Brownie cake...

We sure love Whitney and fell so blessed to have her in our family.

Exploring

Josh got a new toy for his big 40th birthday so we've been out exploring some new places lately. Here's a few pictures of that exploration...
Taking a break...She and I get a bit motion sick:(

Lee's Ferry Overlook...Pictures just don't do this place justice...

Random March

March was long, I'm not gonna lie. For whatever reason, it wasn't one of our typical speedy months- and that's OK! Here are some pics of a few of the things that happened.

Zach's sea MONkey. This is a weird little pet that Whitney got Zach for Christmas. There were dozens of these little guys and now only one has survived. Zach likes taking care of it.

I took my bike out on the rim trail a couple of times. I really need to find a biking buddy...
The youth of our stake did a slot canyon hike out in Kaibab. It was pretty adventurous in that you needed help to get down and up in some parts. A fun little canyon. You'd never know it was there. One of our stake leaders did a great devotional in the canyon.

Whitney found a centipede in her room and I've never seen her so scared. It was a hateful looking thing.
St. Patrick's day! I love any excuse to buy massive amounts of skittles...I also got the kids magnifying glasses so they could burn wood and bugs. That kept them entertained for a few hours. Also burned their retinas...
We went out on the RZR and did some exploring. Whitney and I got a little queasy, but we did our best to ignore it.

With all the outdoor projects that we've had going on, we've stirred up some interesting bugs. This spider was one of the bigger creatures we found. He died shortly after this picture was taken. The desert has no shortage of creepy bugs.
