Soccer 2012

Soccer season started a couple of weeks ago and boy has it been an eye opener for me. I've learned a lot about my kids. I'm the coach for Tyler's team and as it turns out, boys can bring on the drama just as much as girls can...maybe more! But, I won't get in to all of that. Here are some pics of Whitney and Tyler in action:

Whitney kicking off:

Giving pep talks to these sweet little boys. I'm probably saying " I know it's hard, just hang in there for a few more minutes." or " We NEED you!" or "There will be a treat at the end, just stay out here an try to get that ball!". Yes, 25 minutes is a bit long for these little guys.
I think this was after Tyler had scored a goal. He's so proud. There were a few times he kicked the ball out at the goal line and would pick it up and just chuck it inside of the goal. He totally thought that counted as a goal. I wasn't going to argue it. This boy is COMPETITIVE!
Sometimes we play against our own teammates.(Check out player #3 in the background, LOL. This is a pretty entertaining age.)
Love Tyler's face here. He's probably thinking, " I know Mom, just let me kick this ball!"

Good times...

Fair Week 2012

This year, we headed to the Lincoln County Fair 4 times! It's nice having it only a mile from our house. The kids had so much fun just being there and hanging out. Here are some pics of what they did.
Whitney made $10 from her fair entries! She got two blue ribbons!

Another day we went and rode some of the rides. Zach is wedged in there if you look close.

Zach rode this train 4 times. Could not stop talking about the "Choo Choo Train".
That hour wait for the Ferris Wheel may or may not be worth it, but we had fun riding it anyway;)

The next day, we went back and played at the kid activity center. This is Whit throwing a ball into the "plinko" type of game. Look at that form!
The bike/ball toy is always a hit.
As is this spirograph type of toy. I need to get one of these. I think they're fun too.
 Zach has skillzs too...

Playing in the sandbox kept them busy most of the time. My kids could play in the sand all day long.
Getting our snow cone for the week. This is the way to travel.. Relaxin' in a stroller, sippin' on a Spiderman Snowcone. (Could be lyrics to a pretty cool song??)

Grandma and Grandpa came on Saturday for the Rodeo. The kids did pretty well, considering how long a rodeo is. I think the best part for them was the treats though;)

This is the only picture I got of the kids with Grandma and Grandpa. It pretty much captures Zach and Tyler's personalities right now, so I posted it. Sort of difficult little men right now:) Anyway, yay for Fair Week! Not yay that I have to wait a whole year to eat another Navajo Taco...Mmmmmmmmm.

Breakthrough Boating Trip

This was an especially great boat trip we took. I don't blog about every boat outing we take, but there were a few firsts that occurred on this one that made it blogworthy.

One, I was able to surf for quite a long time, I mean longer than a minute without the rope. The wave was just perfect for me. It was SO fun and I think I'm hooked.
The second awesome thing was that Tyler got in to the water! He had to be held, but still, he is making progress! I was so proud. He even went on the tube!

Whit started jumping in to the water without anyone to catch her. She was getting pretty fancy with it at the end with some spin maneuvers.

We were also able to get our friends up surfing and wake boarding for their first times.
Below are more pics of the trip...
Whit and Davin
No, that's not Scott Baio. Gotta love that feathered hair though.

If this scares you, it should, I mean the picture below. Two 2 year olds at the front of the boat. Not a good combination...

Whitney gittin' her disco on...
What a fun trip this was. We sure like our friends:)

Another weekend for the record books...

We sure had a fun and memorably weekend. The kids and I went to SL for my nephew's baptism. It was such an enjoyable/tiring weekend. Here's the whole big family. My nephew's family is from Nevada so I thought I'd take advantage of them being so close. Here are a few pics from the "after party".
Zach has a new fascination with finding ants and crushing them. Pretty gross.
Whitney had SO much fun with her girl cousins. They had an American Girl Doll slumber party the night before. Whitney was in heaven. She needed a break from her brothers. Aunt Kristen is such a fun mom!

THEN, Mom, Dad and I surprised the kids with a trip to Lagoon! The kids thought this was so cool. We went with the Hortons, and Andrew and Truman. Below are some pics of that...get comfy, there's a lot of 'em.

The greatest kiddie ride, it's like a "Big Shot" for kids. Such a good idea. This is Whit with Grace.
 Emily and Alexa

 Getting a little tired....
AJ was a trooper and went on the tilt-a-whirl with the kids. He actually had a lot of fun. I get motion sick just thinking about it...
We all went on the Flying Aces. Tyler "reluctantly" went on it. He's super cautious these days. Afterwards, he couldn't stop talking about it. It was one of my favorites too:)
 Mom and Whit.
 Dad and Alexa
 Em and Grace
 Not too sure...
 Best ride ever!!!
 SO much fun!
 A happy boy once again...
Scariest ride in America. The Wild Mouse. I went ONCE with Whit and it was WAY too scary for me, so Andrew stepped up and went with Whitney the second time.
Sneaking in some big kid rides... Gotta love the Colossas!
Me and Em in all our sweaty glory. I don't think I stopped sweating the whole time I was down there( I know, TMI) My body isn't used to being so hot!
  Late night kiddie rides...

I tried to give Tyler something fun to do since he couldn't go to the girl cousin sleepover. He wanted a ride in grandpas convertible, he had been talking for about 2 weeks about how he wanted to ride in one. We drove on the freeway and went under overpasses, and he thought that was pretty cool. Another fun thing we did
was ride the go cart.
So, in short, this was our last hurrah of July. We only have one month of summer left. I can't believe it's gone by so fast! I wish summer could last all year...
