"I don't want Santa....where's the presents?"

Well this was our third year visiting Santa. We woke up Saturday morning and I told Whitney I had a surprise for her. Santa just happened to be hanging out at a Texaco station up in Alpine, 45 minutes away. I decided it was worth the trip . So about half way there, I told her who we were going to see and she was so excited. She waited in anticipation as we stood in line in between the fountain drinks and the frito-lay/twinkie rack. She was seriously so pumped to see him as she watched other little girls talk to Santa- she kept jumping up and down and saying cheese as everyone got their picture taken with Santa. When it came to her turn and all the attention was on her.... WOW , I have never seen her so terrified of anything or anyone in my life. This was pretty disturbing to me. After leaving the gas station- a little disgraced- she says, "I don't want Santa...where's the presents?" I need to explain the concept of getting more bees with honey to her. I don't think Santa was too impressed with Whitney's display- I just hope he keeps her off his naughty list!

Ode to The Whit...

I am already feeling guilty about all the attention I am NOT going to be able to give Whitney when baby #2 comes along, so I put together this little slide show to make myself feel better. I feel sort of bad for this little guy, how do you follow an act like Miss Whit? Is it possible that we could have TWO beautiful babies? We'll soon find out in 15 days!

First Snowman of the Season

This was our first attempt at a snowman for this year. It may not look that great, but you should have seen last years. We had the perfect kind of snow yesterday morning- not to dry, not too wet. I was a little more in to this creation than Whitney- she wanted to just eat the carrots. She eventually got really excited about him and was so happy that she had her own snowman. She checks on him through the window periodically. Unfortunately, it got a little warmer today and he will have to have some work done on his nose.
Next time, I think I will put more accessories on him. I want to make a really big one at some point this winter but we just haven't had the snow for it yet. Anyway, happy winter to everyone!

Christmas at our house...

Well here is a picture of our tree. I didn't put all of the ornaments on it this year, mainly because I don't know when I will get to putting them all away. Whitney had a fun time decorating it, and there were no ornament casualties this year. Her ornaments are all clustered in one spot on the bottom of the tree. So cute. She's really having a fun time playing with the various nativities we have around and loves pointing out the baby Jesus. I've started talking to her about Santa Clause and she pretty much talks about him non stop. "Where is Santa?" "What's Santa doing?" "You don't have to be afraid of Santa Clause?" "We can play with Santa later" "Maybe Santa will give you a candy cane" etc. It's so fun having her grow up and really start getting excited about Christmas.

This last random picture is just one that I thought was so great. Josh picked Whitney up from nursery on Sunday and Whitney was wearing these glasses- most of the other kids had taken theirs off. She absolutely loved them. My favorite part about this picture is that she feels totally comfortable wearing them. She could wear them all day.

p.s. I have a new poll for people to vote on. This one is for real. Tyler is Josh's middle name and Alan is my Dad's name. I can't believe I only have 21 days left till our baby comes!

Interesting Outfit Choices...

Okay so, Whitney usually goes through at least three outfit changes a day. This is partially because she gets her shirt dirty and doesn't want to wear it anymore, or because she see's another outfit that she'd rather wear. There are more funny outfits, I just don't have them on camera. These were two of the pretty good ones. This is one of my favorites, overalls with a belt. She wore this one in public, it was a big hit. I think we wore this one all day! She wrapped my belt around her like 3 times to get it to fit. This is a 0-3month old dress. We were going through her old clothes, trying to find some unisex clothes for the new baby (didn't find any except white onesies) and she wanted to put on pretty much every sleeper and dress she saw. Finally, to show her that these clothes REALLY didn't fit, I put this dress on her. She thought it looked so cute on. And it did. Whitney really is turning in to such a girly girl- which is good and bad, but mostly good. My favorite thing about these pictures is that she looks so serious about what she is wearing. Ohhhhh, what would I do without my little Whit!
