Fall Festival 2016

We headed down to the park for he "Fall Festival". There were inflatables and a fun climbing wall that the kids played on. We are really loving the fall temperatures of Page.

Whitney made it to to top!

Journey to Ahlstrom Point and Other Adventures...

We headed out to Big Water, Utah and drove along a long bumpy trail to get to Ahlstrom point. Our journey led us on to some detours along the way.

We saw this little arch and of course Josh wanted to hike to it. I volunteered to be in charge of photography and the boys went and checked it out.

The boys hung out at the bottom while Josh made the trek to the top.

You can sort of see the boys at the bottom left side of the picture.

Another stop was the beach at Warm Creek. It was a great place for lunch and some rock skipping.

Zach and I found a "friendship rock" to toss...

We found bird prints that were almost as big as my feet!

You know the hill you're climbing is steep when you look out your windshield and all you see is sky...A little scary.
We finally made it to Ahlstrom Point!

Such a beautiful fall we're having! It feels like an extended summer...

Another Sleepover at the Lake!

I can't believe we are still boating and camping at the lake! I love endless summers! It's our fall break and we asked the kids what they wanted to do and it didn't take them long to decide that they wanted to camp out at the lake. The weather was beautiful and not too cold. We found a great camping spot and then did a little boating, followed by a yummy dinner of soup, bread and of course, treats and then we woke up and did some fishing, hiking and more boating. Here's some proof of all that action...

Whitney and Zach LOVE playing in the sand. They are artistic and creative and I think that's why.
 Evening boating...

Zach...so bored.

Sunsets at Lake Powell NEVER disappoint. Pictures just can't capture them. They are so bright and vivid! It's amazing to me.

I said "strike a pose" and this is what I got.

Sitting around the fire at night is so relaxing. Add in yummy food and you've got a winning combination.
I woke up in the middle of the night because I saw, what I thought, was lights outside the tent. Oh no, it was only the fullest, yellowest moon and it's reflection. It was so pretty. I wish I had a better shot of it.
This was my view when I woke up and got out of my tent.
The boys sure love fire...
Here, Whitney is just dipping an Oreo in her hot chocolate for breakfast. This girl is such a chocoholic.
Gatorade mustaches are always in style.
Breakfast time...Hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls. We eat better when we're camping!
Zach was howling in this picture. I think he liked the way his echo sounded.

Such a beautiful morning. The boys did some fishing.  I wandered around and took pictures of pretty things.

Then, of course, we did some exploring.

Making shadow words with the kids..."LOVE" and
 BYU
Then, we headed out and did some more boating.

Just hanging out at the floating toilet.
Zach was upset that the tube got a hole in it so he protested by sitting like this. Very effective response...
He also made me this bracelet, so I forgave his for his little tantrum...
I told Whitney to take a picture of me because I'm not sure I've ever been out on a lake in OCTOBER!
Tyler is a bonafide wake boarder now!
Whitney continues to improve. She's going in and out of the wake like a pro. It's only a matter of time until she's jumping like dad!

Oh how we love leaving all our troubles at the dock and enjoying this beautiful lake....Hopefully we can get out one more time this fall. Good times...
