Random September

 September went by fast, we sure packed a lot in. I love months like that. Here's some pictures that didn't get their own blog post. 

We went to the driving range, since the temps have been less lava-like.

 We continued to use cousin Scotty's pool. Seems like Whitney went over there a few times a week to swim with her cousin, Esther.

 

 I just took this picture because I thought it was cute. Haircuts all around!

 We had a ward temple day. This will be our temple for the time being. Hopefully we can get there more often in the coming year. It's still 2.5 hours away, but we'll do our best.

 There was a bbq at the park and the kids loved playing with some new friends.

 It's nice that Whitney is old enough to play scrabble with me. She makes up some pretty random words, but they end up being legit...

 Twin day at school!

 A shot from one of my bike routes. I keep waiting for this trail to seem easy. It's a huge hill!

 Here's another shot of the Rim Trail route that I take. The pictures just don't do it justice. It's pretty amazing. I try to do this trail once a week. It's good for the soul...

 The kids participated in the ELKS shoot out. Not sure they will win any awards, but they had fun.

 Our friends, the Taylor's, from Star Valley came to Powell and we popped in to the marina for a bite and to say hello! We love to see familiar faces! I wish I had taken more pictures... these are sort of lame.

 

Josh continues to be a super star. Loved getting this laminated article that was in the paper from Scott.

Time marches on and we are pushing through. Looking forward to October and all that scary goodness...

Going Home...

 We started off our weekend by getting to Star Valley early and having lunch with our good friends, the Nields. Tyler, Jack and Zach were pretty much inseparable over the last few years.

 We then went with the Nield's to the Star Valley Temple open house. I had a lot of mixed emotions when we pulled up into the valley and saw this beautiful temple. I am so happy for this valley, but can't help but have some heartache that I won't be here to enjoy it. I still can't believe there is a temple in Star Valley. Truly, it is a miracle for such a small town. Maybe one day we'll see one in Page??

 It was homecoming weekend so we headed over to the parade later on that day. Oh we love a good hometown parade...

 We surprised Whitney's little friend, Abby and took her with us for the rest of the day/night. Surprising people is the best!

 

We went to the Homecoming football game and pretty much got soaked to the bone.(At this point, I was not sad about moving to AZ.)

   

We saw the Crosby's and Zach got so finally see his buddy Kyson! I don't think my boys stopped smiling the whole weekend.

 The next morning we woke up to this...I think this bad weather was a way of getting us happily on the road back to Arizona, really.

 We had a get together at the park, despite the weather. We have the best friends, that are willing to be soggy and cold for us.

 It was so good to see Whitney with her friends again. I loved seeing her happy.

 A few of my favorite people. I wish  I would have gotten pictures at more of the places we went to. We met up with lots of friends and just laughed and had great conversations.

The Howell's even came in town! It was such a great reunion.

 We went the Henscheid's too! Not sure why I didn't get any pictures of their cute faces, this cute mantle that Brianne created will have to do.

 

Whitney and I and some friends went to The General Womens Broadcast. There was a special temple tour afterwards. I made everyone get this cheesy picture, cuz that's how I do.

 We had breakfast with the Jenkins on Sunday and the kids went crazy, as usual. They played with the Jenkins nearly every day in the summers. It did my heart good to see them together again.

 I can't get over how beautiful this valley is in the Fall. Every canyon we went through on this drive was spectacular. What a great weekend for a road trip.

 This was the best weekend that I can remember having. I was with people I love and I left feeling so full and re-energized, and just "inflated",for lack of a better term. We felt the spirit and just had lots of good experiences with friends. We laughed and cried and chit chatted late into the night. I saw almost everyone I wanted to see and the kids saw all of their friends too. I left the valley with a heart FULL of gratitude to my Heavenly Father for giving me such good friends and memories.
