The Great Outdoors

Josh's friend invited him to go on a fishing trip this weekend and the wives were invited to come along. We stayed at a cabin in Island Park and had a lot of fun. Below are the highlights. Get ready for picture overload.

On the way up to Island Park, we went to a place called Warm River and fed the fish there. It was crazy to see them just come up out of nowhere.

We then headed up to Mesa Falls.
When we weren't swatting the mosquitoes away, we were enjoying this view. Does anyone else think we have a major infestation on our hands with these mosquitoes? The next day we went to another place called Big Springs. We fed the seagulls there, although we were there to feed fish. I pretty much was just happy to have a hat on, if you know what I mean. Tyler liked to chase after the birds and scare them away. We also went to Johnny Sack's cabin while we were there. It was a really old cabin that was built in 1935. Johnny Sack was a German cabinet maker. He built the cabin and the furniture in it. He was only 4'11'' so things in it are pretty small. Mainly I was just trying to keep Tyler from playing with Johnny's tools such as his chainsaws and other hazardous tools there. On Saturday, we went to MONTANA for the first time, I think. It was pretty much the same as Idaho. But, still, one less state I need to visit. We hung out at a park while we waited for our movie to start. We went to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. I couldn't believe how huge these bears were. This one is 941 lbs. My savages in a tee pee.

I spy a wolf. I didn't know wolves were this big. Whitney really enjoyed this trip. It was pure friends and new things to see the whole time.

So we went to the IMAX movie, which was crazy amazing. It was so loud and huge. Tyler was a little overwhelmed, he just nestled in real close to me the whole time. If only Sacrament meeting were in an IMAX theater, I'd be loving Sunday's again. Whitney told me that the movie theater was moving. She thought it was pretty cool.

All in all, it was a fun trip. Josh got some good fishing in and I was able to show the kids things they hadn't seen before. Thanks to the Nielsen's for having us. It was a good weekend!

Cook out #3

So I've really been trying to make the most of this summer since it is kind of proving to be more of a rainy spring. Every day that we have good weather, we try to spend most of the day outside. Yesterday was a nice day so we had our 3rd cook out up at Cottonwood. I mention that it's our third because I think it's quite an accomplishment to have had 3 cook outs already since we probably have only had 3 nice days this "summer". ANYWAY, here are a few pics from that.Ty guy does so great outdoors. He just explores with the other kids and pretty much just hangs out, it's great.

These are a few of the girls that Whitney plays with. It's so fun to have friends so close in age to her. They were quite the explorers scaling this hill. Lots of dirty bums by the end of it!

Oh, and P.S......

So I told Josh I wouldn't post this picture of him, but I'm going to. Sometimes I lie. I'm still trying to figure out why he doesn't like to have his picture taken. It REALLY bugs me. If he were not so cute I would understand, but look at him, isn't he just adorable?! This was taken on fathers day. He's sportin' the new tie we gave him. What you don't see is the lighter shaped like a gun that also doubles as a laser pointer that Whitney picked out. Oh, ya gotta love fathers day!

Dress number 2

Okay so this is the second of the Amy Butler fabric dresses that I'm making. Whitney picked out this fabric. Her favorite color is blue right now so she really likes it. I haven't quite mastered sleeves yet but I'm getting a little closer. I semi-followed a pattern this time, but sleeves weren't in the pattern. If anyone knows any tricks or tips, send them my way!
