If the pictures were better you'd see the steps we used and the makeshift leg warmers I was sporting. P.S. If you need leg warmers, just cut off the arms of a sweater, it looks hot (obviously).

"75% of my life is an embarassing moment"
In a recent conversation with my sister, Emily, I recall telling her that 75% of my life was just one embarrassing moment. These photos are a great example of that. I am the Laurel Advisor in my ward and so as a way to "magnify my calling" I participated in our Ward Lip Sync with the girls. The song was "Jump (for my love)" by the Pointer Sisters. The first time I heard this song I immediately thought of an 80's aerobics class. So I was nominated by the girls to be the aerobics instructor. It was a fun little ditty and I hope I get points for doing my job in church.

Who's that creeping in on to the stage? You know that Whitney is never too far away from me. The whole night she was begging to be able to get up on the stage and dance. I wish these were better pictures, the gym was dark and I'm pretty sure Josh was holding Tyler while taking these pictures.

Easter @the Smith's
We had a little easter egg hunt around the house for Whitney Easter morning. Whitney was pretty bummed that she couldn't see the Easter Bunny. The night before she kept asking us where he was and where he lived- I never had the right answer for her (as usual). After about an hour of this, I told her that the Easter bunny didn't exist (I don't really like the idea of an Easter bunny anyway- baskets filled with giant chocolate bunnies and peanut butter filled eggs are another story). She didn't buy that either. The questions just kept coming. Where does the Easter bunny live anyway?

Happy Easter & Ty at Three Months
It was a little weird dying eggs on St. Patrick's day- We had our themed out St. Patricks day meal and then dyed eggs...weird. Anyway, if you look close, you'll see that Whitney has blue dye on her lip, that's because she thought the dye tablets were candy- whooopsie! Luckily we got to her before she ate it.
Tyler is Three months old today and I can't believe how fast/slow time has gone by. The winter has been going by slowly so that makes time stand still for me. I can't explain it. I think I've figured him out and things are going pretty well for us. He's pretty predictable and patient- two things I wish I could be. Even at his young age he teaches me a lot. He's doing great. I've even been able to get a little giggle out of him every now and then.

Tasty Treat from the Middle East
Okay, I am a huge fan of hummus. I have to share this recipe for a few reasons.
A: It is delish.
B: It only has 3 grams of fat in the entire dip- this recipe doesn't have any oil in it like some do.
C: Whitney loves it and it has veggies in it!
I would post a picture, but it doesn't look that appetizing (like most of the food posts I do:) and you probably wouldn't make it.
Recipe:
Drain 1 Can (15 oz.) chickpeas, reserving 1/4 cup liquid. Place chickpeas (garbanzo beans) in food processor with 1 clove garlic, 1 T. lemon juice, 1 t. ground cumin, and 1/4 t each of ground RED pepper and salt. Process until smooth, adding reserved liquid until desired consistency. Serve with pita chips, or tortillas, or put it on a bagel.
shalom!

Half Marathon...any takers?
Okay, I have caught the running bug again. I am "training" for the Park City half marathon ( http://www.pcmarathon.com/ ) in August. Saturday August 23rd to be exact. I use the term "training" loosely because I probably won't be able to even run outside until mid April due to the frozen tundra that is Wyoming. The snow will hopefully be thinking about leaving by then. I would love it if anyone wanted to do it with me. It is in over five months so there is plenty of time to get in shape. I haven't registered yet, so I don't know if I can even get in, but in any case I am going to do a half this summer. Join me, won't you?

Splish Splash...
This Saturday Whitney,Tyler and I went swimming up in Jackson with some friends. All morning, I kept telling Whitney to stop pulling her swimsuit out of the swim bag because we would forget it if she didn't put it back. We get to the swimming pool and, you guessed it, there was no swim suit. Luckily, Aimee, my friend, had some extra gear for her son, so Whitney used his rash guard shirt and trunks. NICE.

Whitney really is the happiest when she is in the water. Tyler was such a GREAT baby. He was awake most of the time and just looked around. He is SOOO laid back. I love it.

Whitney kept going under the water, I never even told her to try it. She just kept doing it. She keeps her eyes open and sometimes her mouth, so we may have some sickness issues later. She did throw up after dinner, but it could be the nasty egg rolls I fed her, but I digress.

Anyway, we had a fun time going down slides and just being together with friends. We'll have to do this more often. It was the perfect cure for my winter blues!
p.s. my dear dad brought it to my attention that I look very "Norwegian" (pasty white) in these pictures- clearly that's the camera's fault.......

Tyler's Blessing Weekend
We were so lucky to have so much family in town for Tyler's blessing. Get ready for lots of pictures.
We started off the weekend with snow activities. Snowmobiling, playing in the DEEP snow and sledding.
Then the next day, we rented out a place up here that had just a bunch of stuff for us to do.
The kids just ran around and played with toys and played on the bball and raquetball courts.

Don't worry, it's totally normal to take your pants off to play. Clothes, just get in the way.
The adults played, Wally ball. I don't have pictures of that b/c I was playing. It was a lot of fun and totally worth the bruises on my wrists!
Sleeping at his own party.
Ty guy, looking spiffy in his full body sweater. I wish I could find one in my size....
Whitney loved having so many cousins to play with this weekend. She adores them all!
Peeps
More peeps
our little family
Thanks to everyone who helped me out this weekend. I really had a fun time. It was fun to have so much family around. If anyone wants to come up for a visit this year, we would LOVE it.
