Random August...

August was a long month, when I really look back and see what we did. Lots going on, dragging on...Here's some randomness that I wanted to document.

Here, Zach is eating a corn dog. He rolls up the "corn" part in his fingers and eats it first. Then he eats the dog. He goes about eating food in strange ways sometimes. It all gets eaten, though, so I don't mind. 

 

We went to the skate park a few times. I only have this one picture of Tyler. I mainly took video on this day. 

 I've completed the Rim trail three times now. It's 14 miles, but it goes by fast because you really need to be on your toes for the whole thing. Not a leisurely stroll. The view never gets old to me.

 

This is still on the rim trail, I like this creepy swampy part. There are only a few areas like it.

 I taught Whitney how to make Grandma Jones' chocolate chip cookies. I'm confident this will pay off in the end.

 Tyler has decided to take his breakfast outside these days. Only Tyler...

 Rainbow. Page has lots of rainbows, I've found.

 We went to Wahweap one evening and Tyler caught a fish! He's getting pretty good at it.

 I went to Tyler's soccer practice and this was the view. Not too shabby...

Yet another boating post...

 We headed out to the lake again with just our little family the other day. The beauty of this lake never gets old. We had a great time exploring Labyrinth canyon again and some other little fingers of the lake. Here's some shots of our day...

 Fishing and swimming...

 I love sitting in the front of the boat. Sun on my legs and wind in my hair...It's such a distraction from life.

This is the kids' favorite new game. They play king of the mountain while the tube is tied to the boat.

 I got my ski on. Oddly, it's only the second time I've been this summer!

 

This picture does not to the sunset justice. It was a neon pink color. Obviously I was happy about it. For some reason my phone turned it into yellow. Still pretty though. 

Peter Pan!

 Grandma and Grandpa invited us to see Peter Pan at Tuacahn in St. George earlier this week. We took a break from school and had a great time! Tuacahn is an outdoor theater and is such a beautiful place. We had a great time and love that we can buzz up to see grandma and grandpa whenever they are in St. George! The next morning, the boys were in their swimsuits and ready to hit the pool by 7:00! We loved this little trip and wish it could have been longer...

...And then we went to the lake...

 We took some new friends to the lake last week. It still blows my mind that Lake Powell is "the lake" that I'm referring to. We love having it so close. The kids loved playing "King of the Mountain".

We taught Lynda and Seth how to surf. They both got up on their first try!
