Ballerina Babe
Whitney had her first (and last- she's not a fan of dance) dance recital on Saturday. Grandma, grandpa, and great grandma were there. Whitney did a great job. She was a trooper to stay with dance, even though she really did not enjoy it very much. They danced to Singin' in the Rain. How cute is this little babe?!
Zachary's Birthday Bonanza!
We were so lucky to have grandma and grandpa up for Zachary's birthday party. Unfortunately I don't have any proof of that, as I am horrible at documenting events:( Oh wait, here's one with grandpa...
Whitney and Tyler tried to teach Zach how to blow out his candles earlier that day...
I'm not so sure he completely got the idea...
Here's a picture Whitney took of the three of us. I need to get her trained on the camera so I can be in some of our family pictures. She did a pretty good job!
Then came the cake and presents:
He sure did like that cake, he kept eating,
and eating,
and eating,
Then when there wasn't anything left for him to eat, he resorted to his trusty thumb:)
Oh Zachy, we love you so much.....
Whether you like it or not!

No more school, no more books...
Hard to believe this school year is already over! Whitney has grown in so many ways. She has really gone out of her comfort zone in a lot of areas and learned so many new things- most importantly READING! It's been fun to see her read and write and watch the gears turn in her head. She's such a smart little girl and has caught on to all of it pretty easily.
She really went above and beyond what a normal school teacher should do. Even brought Whitney home from school one day because Whitney didn't want to take the bus! I appreciated all of her phone calls and visits. She's so concerned about each student and wants them all to have such a great Kindergarten experience. She truly loves her job and loves those cute little kids. She's set the bar very high and I hope we can always have teachers as dedicated as her for our kids.
Whitney is very excited to be able to sleep in. She doesn't like getting up at 7:00 in the morning. I, on the other hand have mixed feelings. Can I handle three kids in my house at the same time all day long?! I might go crazy.
This is her saint of a pre-school teacher, Mrs. Beus.

She had a little end of year program the other day. Here are Whitney's dear friends in her class.

Zachary is ONE!
Baby Zach turned one today! He's been especially smiley today-I think he knew it was his special day.
This is a common scene. Zach climbing on me. He loves to be held and how can I say no?
Driving his sweet wheels
At 12 months, Zach weighs 19 lbs. and continues to be a good natured little guy.
He loves to cuddle and suck that thumb. He takes 2 naps a day and loves to play in Whitney's room with she and Tyler. He is extremely ticklish and laughs at everything his brother and sister do. Oh, and he has 8 teeth as you can see here.
Although, sometimes he dosn't think they're so funny and he can hold his own.
He dosn't say anything that I can understand yet, but it sure sounds cute. He isn't too bad about getting in to things he shouldn't. He seems to mainly just like the fridge, dishwasher and is starting to be interested in getting into cupboards. It seems like he's been in our family all of this time.
We didn't have a party tonight. We will have it on Friday when we have some more party goers.(Zach says he's okay with that).
p.s. Zach even got a visit from his favorite princesses!
It was cool until it wasn't...

My Joshy Turns 33
Well Josh turned 33 today, which was sort of a surprise since we both thought he was turning 32 until we did the math. I guess you just stop keeping track after a certain point. We had a joint birthday with some dear friends that have a daughter who shares this birthday. She turned 17 and is such a sweetheart.
Anyway, happy birthday to my Josh. We love you! (and promise a way cooler cake next year)
The birthday kids
I made the cake which didn't exactly turn out as I had hoped. It was pretty much a major flop, but oh well. Maybe next year right? It was a jello cake that was somehow attacked by strawberries and then apparently lit on fire.
(Seriously, what the H is that?)
Hopefully I can redeem myself later on this week when I make Zach's cake.
Here are two of the birthday cards that Josh got:
Whitney's says "Happy Birthday To You cha cha cha". That's how they sing it in Primary I think. He's fishing
and giving a thumbs up.
Tyler's is pretty typical of Tyler. He does this design all the time. Puts lots of colors together in a clump like this and always touching. He presses really hard and deliberately on the paper. I don't think it's supposed to be anything, it's just his style right now I guess.
Anyway, happy birthday to my Josh. We love you! (and promise a way cooler cake next year)

May
May has been a pretty fun month so far. I've been horrible at documenting it though..We've had some crappy weather, but we've also had some great weather and have fully taken advantage of being outside during those days. It's amazing how much happier we all (ME) are when the sun is shining and it's warm outside! Anyway, some of my favorite highlights so far (that I don't have documented unfortunately) have been a dear friends' wedding and connecting with long time friends,

a bike ride to Maverik with my entourage to get a Mavy (frozen yogurt), golf (my first time, and I'm a fan- a cursing fan, but a fan nonetheless. Golf is hard...), my first sunburn of the season at the park, a dance competition, republican fundraising dinner- "why was this a favorite?" you ask. The food was awesome( minus the 4 hairs I found in my salad at the end- I could do a whole post on that alone, but I won't) and it sort of makes me feel like a responsible adult, even though I have no clue what anyone is talking about half of the time. I just clap and smile at all the right moments- such a fish out of water at these things...OK enough of that, here are some pictures of stuff:

Josh took Tyler to watch some motocross in SLC. He thoroughly enjoyed it. His favorite part was the fire.
This is just a random picture, but It's my favorite part about travelling with my little ones so I thought I should document it...
Mother's Day...
My favorite part was Tyler's saying to me " Mom I got something for you" Me: "What is it?" Then he'd give me either a hug or a kiss. This never got old. He's so full of love.
Whitney's (marathon) dance competition. Her team placed 2nd. We think she looks like a different person with her hair up like that. You don't even want to know the weeping and wailing that went along with getting her hair up like that. WOW!
Zachy sure was a trooper, just tried to keep it together by sucking that thumb...I sure do love that thumb, it's come in handy on more than one occasion!
And, yes, I've been doing some crafts. This one is my favorite. I officially don't have any more wall space available for any more art/pictures/decor...dang. I did find a small wall above our stairs that works perfectly though.
If you follow craft blogs, you've seen this subway art. I fell in love with it and made my own. These are streets that Josh and I have lived on in our life together and before. Just a little shout out to our past I guess. Here's the inspiration for it. I can't decide if I want to distress mine though, like the picture below.
That's our May so far. Just thought I'd get it all down before we have Josh and Zach's birthday's coming up. Expect more posts!

Zach at 11 months!
Here are a few things that Zach is doing lately. I can hardly believe he's almost one!
waiting at the window for Spring to come...
scavenging for food under the table.
Other things he does include sucking on his thumb, cutting teeth (he has 8 now), eating. He loves to be cuddled and gets a little spoiled in that department. We love this sweet little man!
