Random Septemberness

Fall hasn't been too bad this year. I really try to take advantage of the days that are reminiscent of summer because I know they won't last long. I took this picture becaue it just made me happy. My two little boys reading on the tramp. I love the view from our home. I never get sick of it.
The boys brought home this cute little caterpillar. Zach loved it so much that he kept it in his room. (Where it died, or crawled out. I never found it.)

This shot doesn't come close to capturing how beautiful the moon was on this particular night. Whitney and I came out of Women's' Conference at the church to a big, bright, full moon. It was glorious. I love living so close to the mountains. Everywhere I've lived in my 35 years has been close to the mountains. I can't imagine not having them there.
Sunday Monopoly match. I still don't know how to really play this game. I don't know why my kids like playing it so much.
I was out running errands one day and I came across Whitney and her friends going for a candy run. I took this shot from the parking lot. So random.
I love all the kindergarten projects Zach brings home. He really loves school and I love seeing him learn new things. My favorite thing about this craft was that he walked in the house after school and was wearing it like it was just the most normal thing to have on your head. (It's a knight's head shield.)
September was a good month for us. I hope we can keep winter at bay for at least another month!

A Pretty Great Weekend

The kids and I headed down south for my sister's 40th birthday party. While we were there, we got lots of fun cousin time in. We headed to Mike's football game. What a beautiful day for football.
Mike scored a touchdown!  I love that no matter how much time goes by,  the cousins just pick up where they left off when they see each other. I have the best nieces and nephews.
 Nice face, Zach....
Then, after taking Whit to her cousins house, I took the boys to Cabela's. We didn't have a ton of time and they wanted to go to a museum, so this was the next best thing.

Then I headed to a cool nursery. The boys fought over this stupid cart most of the time we were there. So of course, I documented it.
Then it was party time. We had such a fun time playing and talking to family.
Yes, a few tiny fingers paid the price in this game...

 Birthday girl and Mom...
 40 candles!

Playing "Around the world". So much fun!

 Me and Missy
 My "blood" sisters.
  Me and Em.
Me and my sibs, minus Ben.

 So many babies!

Me and my baby brother.
We headed home that night, but not without going to a carwash at 10:00 at night. The kids think car washes are so fun. I love seeing their excitement... They had to share it all with their stuffed animals.

It was a wonderful weekend. Just what I needed. One of those weekends where you get energized and are ready to tackle the rest of the month. I sure love my family...
