Flaming Gorge

This past weekend we went to Flaming Gorge with My Mom and Dad, Chris and Kristen (and kids), and Andrew and Chelsey. I don't have any good shots on the beach or on the boat- long story- but if I did, there would be lots of pictures of Whitney laying down in the water and possibly one of us on the tubes with Ellie and Abby. Flaming Gorge is a water skiiers dream as far as glassiness goes. It is cold, but the weather is so hot, you want to get in. If I weren't prego, I'd probably still be sore, even now, a week later, from water skiing. Oh the things we do to bring these little ones into the world! Okay, enough of that, here's what I have:

Here's what our campsite looked like. We had fun cooking and, of course, eating yummy food. We had dutch oven enchiladas and dutch oven peach cobbler. Mom certainly knows her way around the camp kitchen.

Well it was a great vacation and our last for this summer (so sad). Thanks to Mom and Dad for arranging such a fun trip!

New Camera

Well, we finally decided to update our camera. We're still trying to figure out how to really use it, but I thought I'd post a few pictures from the other day and see how they look.

It's a BOY!

Yes, It's true, we are having a baby boy! I had the ultrasound yesterday and there was no doubt about it. We are both very excited. Josh says he would have been happy either way, but I think he secretly was hoping for a boy. This morning, though, I think he'd settle for a baby that just liked him- Whitney woke up on the wrong side of the bed...again. The ultrasound showed a healthy boy and we feel very blessed. Here are a couple pictures. The first is the definitive BOY shot (pretend you are looking up from the underneath, there are two thighs and what's that in between?????)and the second is just a picture of me at 20 weeks along. A little bigger than I was with Whitney at this point. (P.S. I did not dress up for this picture taking occasion and doing your hair is overrated- oh and also, I picked this picture because it does not fully reflect the extent of junk that is really in my trunk right now.)

Lavosh... it's food.

"What the heck is that?", you may be asking yourself. Well, after I made a key lime pie out of the limes my mom gave me last week (thanks mom, it was yummy), I had a lot of egg whites left over but according to Josh "meringue sucks". So I couldn't put a meringue on top of the pie so I had all these left over egg whites. We went searching on www.allrecipes.com and found this Armenian flat bread recipe called Lavosh. I thought I'd make it as a shout out to Josh's brother serving in Armenia. It looks really gross in the picture, but it is actually quite tasty. I put sesame seeds and grated Parmesan on these but you could do cinnamon and sugar or spice it up or whatever. I'm pretty sure I didn't follow the recipe at some point because even after my third attempt and a bunch of crisco, it was really hard to get the bread off the cookie sheet. If you want a tasty snack and you have a bunch of egg whites laying around, make this. If you don't have a hard time getting it off the cookie sheet, let me know your secret.

Fair Time

Well it was that time of the year this past week. Grandma and Grandpa came on Sunday and stayed for the PRC Rodeo. Missy and her kids came on Monday and went to the Rodeo as well. It was a little long for the kids, but they were troopers. I posted this picture of Whitney and I, just because, I loved Whitney's face, I have no idea what she was looking at. Pretty entertaining though.

We pretty much just hung out this week-making crafts, riding bikes, playing outside, and watching movies. Whitney sure loved having some cousins to play with.
On Friday, Andrew and Chelsey came up and we had a cook out in the back yard, followed by a little firework show that Josh put on. We really loved having all of our visitors this week. If you ever find yourself in Wyoming, come stay with us!
