One time we went golfing...

I sure do like golf. I finally sort of understand why some people get addicted to golf. It's pretty darn fun! Here are some pics of a few of my friends gittin' their golf on...
That black thing on the ground is the club head. Hopefully her husband wasn't too bugged about that one. He probably WAS bugged when it happened to a second club though. Oopsie!

Nicki and Patience- two of my favs.
We are such dorks- I don't even know what we're doing here. Clearly we were delirious at this point.

Hangin' Out Downtown...

Every summer downtown Afton has a weekend called "Crazy Dayz". Vendors sell a bunch of stuff for cheap out on the street and there is a car show right down the center of the highway. I'm sure it drives tourists nuts to have to be diverted. I took the kiddos and my Whit's BFF down to check it out. Here are some pics of a few of our favorite cars:
How cool is that fake toddler in the pic. Weird.

This kid was in heaven with his gigantic cone. I don't know what I was thinking. Oh yeah, I was thinking, "If I feed him a gigantic ice cream cone, he will stay in this stroller". Sometimes I have good ideas. I'll sacrifice clean clothes for a cooperative baby any day:)

Why not just play in the mud?

For FHE some neighbors got together and went to the mud volleyball courts in our neighborhood. The idea of playing mud volleyball sounded fun enough, but when it came right down to it, none of us adults were getting near that mud. GROSS! (The funny thing, this was one of TWO mud volleyball excursions I made that week. The second one, I actually got in and played though. I sure do NOT like getting dirty) Here are some pics of the muddiness...

Oh, the things we do for fun around here!

Random week in review...

This was my birthday week. I documented just a little bit of it. It was pretty busy and honestly a little tiring! Josh and I went golfing for my birthday.

I took a picture of my scorecard, not because I think I did well, but to document that I DID make par on TWO holes. I don't think I've ever done that! I'm hoping to get better this summer though and maybe make par more often (Is that even a phrase- "make par"? It is now. ). I was SO thrilled! As you can see, I started off a little rough (10,6,9). In my defense, it was my first golf outing of the season...

Anyway, on the 4th, we went for a little picnic in the mountains.

I've decided that maybe I'm an "indoor girl". I really didn't like the bugs where we were at. Zach got stung by a bee and I swear, I had ants in my pants, literally. Ughhh! The kids had fun chucking their rocks, like they always do.

Later that day we decided to hit the lake for a few hours. As you can see, we got Tyler onto the tube finally and he was NOT happy about it. Mom isn't the best tube driver I guess. Josh and Whitney surfed. It was a night of firsts for them. Below is a short video of Whit and Josh surfing. The camera battery died so that's all I got. It was pretty fun to watch. They got up on their first try!

The next day, we visited Great Grandma and went out to lunch with Aunt Jo and Uncle Dale. It was nice to get out of our own stomping grounds and take a ride to great-grandmas house.
Here's a pic of Z. He wouldn't sit still long enough to be in the picture with the others. Such a busy body!

One reason the kids love going to great-grandmas house is because she always gives them such fun gifts. Here's Whitney reading the book great-grandma gave her. Whitney sure is a great big sister. (I'm lucky she puts up with me:)

Then today we hit the parade for awhile. I wish I had a shot of our family of 5 on our 4 wheeler. We headed down mainstreet before the parade began and there were a few comments about how maybe we were a part of the parade. We basically looked ridiculous with so many of us crowded onto it! Josh insisted we "looked normal". Speaking of "normal". Only at a parade, is it "normal" to pick up candy from the road and eat it.
This little guy had the right idea, hanging out under a tree the whole time. I am loving this heat!
So, for me, the best week of the year is over. Can't wait for next year!

Flaming Gorge 2012

We took a trip to one of my favorite childhood vacation spots this week: Flaming Gorge. It was fun to see my own kids enjoy this place as much as I always did. We went with my friend and her sister's family. Whitney, especially, had so much fun with them since their family had 4 girls! Below are LOTS of pictures of a few of the things we did...

This little guy fell asleep every time we got on the boat. What a trooper he was!

Tyler is all about safety. He wore this floaty AND his life jacket the whole time we were at the beach.
He even wore it hiking, you can never be too safe I guess...

Warms my heart to see Whit doing one of my favorite things: cliff jumping! I love the rush and scariness of it all...She was very brave and didn't hesitate nearly as much as I did at her age, actually, I don't know if I even did it at her age!

 Me and Nicky...

Tyler dosn't get in the water, but he sure had fun driving with dad and sitting in his "spot" at the front of the boat.

 Zach asleep...again.
 Whit and her new friend...
Cute little girls, thrilled with a fast boat ride...
 Roasting stuff...

This guy loved throwing dirt balls...
 Hunsakers jumping...
 Josh jumping...
Zach was loving all the attention he was getting from all the girls. They just adored having a baby around!
Here's Nicky skiing. She got up on her second try! She's awesome.
 Asleep again...
One of Zach's favorite spots. I don't know why he goes down here, maybe he thinks it would be a nice place to take a nap. When I drive, he wiggles his way down here. Silly guy.
Josh, surfing...
Me, after I surfed. No shot of me doing it, since I didn't stay up that long. It's a little tricky for me at this point. (p.s. don't be sad if your hair doesn't cooperate as well as mine does, it's a gift.)

Just wanted to document this little quirk of Tyler's. He wears his flip flops on the wrong feet and in between the wrong toes. It's just more comfortable for him that way. A little odd...
Pooped by the end of the trip. We had so much fun and are excited to do it again next year!
(if you made it through all those pictures, congratulations!)
