Here are a few things I've been working on during this LOOOONG winter. I'm trying to get all of my craft ideas done and out of my system before summer hits. I plan on spending every possible moment outside. We really have to take FULL advantage of our summers around here- mainly because they are so short. I don't know what I would do without my crafts. I know I'm such a dork, but what else do you do when you don't want to go outside in those inhumane temps???
One thing you may not know about me is that I hate to waste things- time, money, food , water- you name it. I love to utilize stuff I have around the house and make it into something better. For some reason I get a lot of satisfaction out of making something boring into something beautiful. I made these skirts out of maternity shirts that I was going to give to the DI. They were super easy and cost me next to nothing to make. The first one is an oatmeal color and the second is just gray-kind of hard to see that in the pictures though.
This is a baby blanket for our new little guy. It's just a very plain and easy blanket, but I was so crazy over the plaid fabric that I wanted to use as much of it as possible. You can't really tell from the picture, but it's got turquoise and gray in it. So fun for a baby boy. The back is in lime green minky. Something tells me I should have made it a lot more bright and crazy though. This little guy is ACTIVE!
I made these little IKEA frames to add some color to Tyler's room. Gotta love Mod Podge!
I am crazy about scrapbook paper and fabric designs- I just cant get enough.
I bought some Styrofoam about a year ago for a craft that turned out not to be such a great idea. So instead of just throwing them away, I pretended like it was canvas and I wrapped fabric that I'm crazy about (Wonderland by Momo for Moda -tea time sugar- the entire collection is awesome- I'm obsessed) around it. I smile every time I go into my bathroom now. No more blah bathroom! Probably a $10 project and SO easy.
The hardest project I've been working on is Whitney's Easter dress.
I bit off WAY more that I could chew on this one, but she really wanted it so I gave it a shot. I still need to even up the bottom but, this is what it's looking like so far.
The last "project" I've been "working on" is baby #3.
At 28 weeks, I'm feeling pretty good, just really tired and feeling like things are getting pretty tight inside of me- like there's already no more room left to grow! I look forward to the next 12 weeks:) I told the kids that they needed to start picking stuff up off the floor more because it squishes the baby every time I need to bend down to pick something up......didn't work. I think I need one of those garbage grabber tools with the long handle. Hmmmm.... something to think about. Anyway, that's pretty much what I've been up to lately. Not much of a blog post, just wanted to let ya'll know we're still kickin' out here in the stix!:)
