New Hometeachers

So we got some new hometeachers this last Sunday. They were nice enough to pose for a picture after church.



The one kind of looks like a rebel without a tie and all. He's a nice guy though. Both of them play sports and have asked me to join their city league basketball team. We call ourselves "Legion." Pretty cool name, eh?

Only good can come of this change. Rumor is that they bring all their new families a fruit basket. Sweet!

Beignet's of Fury

Okay, so I've been craving these little treasures for a while now. I know they may not look that appetizing but they are quite delicious. This was my first attempt at making them. In my family, we had Beignet's for Christmas Eve every year. And, since it felt like Christmas Eve today (4 inches of snow on our driveway this morning!) I thought I'd get into the winter spirit of things and make some comfort food. They are French Donuts and they normally are square, but my dough was a little sticky (I needed more flour)and it ended up just being a mishapped ball of dough that I dropped into my oil. It tastes the same no matter what shape they are in.

You normally put powdered sugar on them, but we also put chocolate syrup and caramel on some. I even liked just the plain ones. One of these days, I want to do a Navajo Taco type topping on them. My Sweet Baby Girl

Well, it has been awhile since I did just a good old fashioned post of The Whit. We were at a friends house today and took some fun pictures. She was pretty tired during it all, but we got through it- and even got a few good shots. I am still learning how to use our camera, so some of the shots are blurry. I had the camera on the "children" setting, but somehow there were still some blurry ones. Oh well, you get the idea.
