Flaming Gorge 2013

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...I'm a lazy writer.

This was my attempt at a silly face. Not sure what my hands are doing...
 Zach can sleep anywhere...

Building "water systems". Such a Flaming Gorge thing to do.

Both are signaling grandpa to "slow down!"

Eating yummy food. Grandma knows how to camp without sacrificing yummy food.
 Ghost stories
Whitney even tried to water ski. She got pretty close, but after 3 tries she was far too cold from sitting in the water. One of the trials of having 1% body fat, I guess:)

You can never be too safe...
Best part of FG is the cliff jumping!
I was so proud of Whitney. She was the first to jump off this 10 foot cliff. She's got quite a daring streak in her. She isn't afraid to try new things. I love it. I wasn't as daring as her at her age!

They all loved playing in the mud.
We even got M up on the wakeboard. She was such a go getter and wasn't afraid at all! It's so fun to watch people learn how to do a new thing.
This was our last hurrah of the summer and we are sad to see summer slip away, but it was a fun trip to end on:)

Yay for cousins!

We were so happy to have some family visit a few weeks ago. They were on their way up to Yellowstone with their big family of 8! My kids loved having so many playmates. There was lots of trampoline jumping and just being together. It was definitely one of the highlights of our summer.
The girls made up some dances on the trampoline. Whitney sure loved having more girl power in the house...

Eating out.
What a fun little weekend we had:)

Lincoln County Fair 2013

This is what it looks like when we get our Lincoln County Fair on...
 Before:
 After:

NASCAR simulation. I thought for sure Josh was going to set a record with as fast as he drives...

These are what you'd call "lumberjills". They are women axe loggers. They compete and are apparently really good from what they say. They chopped stuff down and threw axes and stuff. They also rolled on a log. Pretty cool.
Whitney and Tyler put a few artistic entries into the fair this year. They were so happy to earn a little cash on the side!

Good times...

A darn good week...

The kids and I headed down south for a few days. The trip started off with a visit with some of my dear high school friends: Cami, Tammy, and Lacey. We just talked and talked and could have talked more if given the time. I wish we lived closer to them so their awesomeness could rub off on me. I sure have missed them.
Then, we went up to the cabin and played around there a little. Grandma made homemade ice cream for us TWICE! She sure is a tough act to follow. This may have been the culinary highlight of my whole weekend, which is saying a lot since I hit Cafe Rio while I was down there!
Besides the amazing food that mom cooked, we enjoyed some outdoorsy time too.
Looking for frogs. There were a bunch!
Maxin' and relaxin' on the deck with some Doritos...
After a beautiful weekend at the cabin, we went back to grandma and grandpas house. Tyler talked grandma into building a Lego house with him. It was pretty fantastic.
Another thing the kids like to do when we go to a city is to get a car wash. It's cheap entertainment, so I do it. We don't get out much, as you probably have guessed. (You should have seen us at IKEA going up the escalator, they looked like Buddy on the movie ELF. They were so awkward getting on to the thing. So funny to watch...)

Then we went to the pool. There was a lightning warning or something like that so we had to stay out of the pool for a while. Tyler entertained us with his "tiger bones". ( His back bones stick out like a tigers do when they walk.)
Good thing grandma brought plenty of snacks.

Then grandma and grandpa took us to a Bees game! The kids have never been to a baseball game before, so this was especially cool.

They even had a train! Tyler was pretty stoked about this!
All in all, it was a successful weekend! Thanks to Mom and Dad for providing us with such fun times:)
