Tyler @ 6 months

Well yesterday we had Ty's 6 month check up. He almost weighs 18 lbs and is almost 28" long. He's pretty average as far as percentiles go, but he's certainly not average as far a cuteness! Whitney has really started to be interested in her brother. It's fun to see.At 6 months, Tyler really likes his exersaucer.

We found out that he likes hikes. Well I guess we found out that he doesn't NOT like hikes. He just goes along with everything we do. Even our mock photo shoots...

Friends

This past week I was down in Salt Lake while Josh had his Yellowstone trip. I arranged a little get together with some of my high school friends. Some of us hadn't seen each other since graduation!

Amanda(Bunderson) Peterson and I. Amanda is the most friendly girl you'll meet. It seems like she had all sorts of friends, not just in our HS but all the surrounding ones.

After HS, Lacey and I roomed together at BYU. She's such a fun girl. She just laughs all the time...like in this picture:)

Jill and I have been friends since...forever. We grew up together. She's like a little sister- even though she's older than me. She's just a little person, although, she's not as little as usual right now- she's prego- yay!)

I wish I had more pictures of the other girls. All are so unique and make you laugh for so many different reasons. These are such good friends. I've always counted my friends as one of my greatest blessings and this get together reminded me why. It was like we had never been apart. It was so fun to catch up with these girls. It was good to know where their lives had taken them. Despite various hardships they've all had, they all seem to be doing quite well. Seeing their sweet kids was fun too. I miss these girls, but hopefully we will keep in better touch. Old friends are best!

A small victory for Mom!

I was getting so sick of the daily drama of combing Whitney's loooooong hair, so a few days ago I talked Whitey into letting me cut her hair. I've been trying to talk her into this for awhile now. This was Whitney's first haircut. (I know she's three. She doesn't even let me comb her hair, let alone put a pair of scissors to it.) I told her that her cousin,Grace, had got a haircut and that was enough for her to comply.

Okay, so I know it isn't a really big difference, but it was still a big deal for me. It's a little easier to comb through, although we still have the drama. Contrary to what her "after" picture expresses, she really was happy to have a haircut "just like Grace".

I did NOT graduate 10 years ago!

Okay so my 10 year reunion is coming up in August. I swear it was just yesterday that I was pulling all nighters at "sleepovers" with my friends. Now the only all nighters I've had are with my kiddos.

It also seems like just yesterday we were dressing up as brides for MORP. Now, we all have done that for real. (Sorry about the black and white. I really didn't graduate THAT long ago. I took the pictures for my photography class in HS.) High School was really fun. I wish I would have kept in better touch with more of my friends over the years. I'm mainly doing this post because we have a BHS( website www.bhsclassof98.blogspot.com) that links BHS alum to various blogs so we can catch up with each other. So, if you are wondering what Amanda Jones has been doing the past 10 years, here goes...
After HS, I graduated from BYU with a BS in Biology Teaching. I never taught High School though. I just wasn't cut out for it. I got married shortly after graduating (2002). I worked at Merrill Lynch while my husband, Josh, went to BYU Law School. In 2005, we had our first of two kids right before he graduated. We moved up to Afton Wyoming shortly after that. You've most likely been through our town if you've been to Jackson Hole. It's a different life up here in a small town, but it has some benefits. Our kids are 3 years and 5 months- you'll see their pictures all over this blog. They are the best things in my life. They keep me grounded. Besides taking care of my family, I do other stuff. I'm training for the Park City 1/2 marathon in August. I've done four marathons a triathlon and a handful of 1/2 marathons over the years. Running makes me feel young so I try to keep it up. I know you may be saying "27 is not old" but lately I feel old- don't even get me started. I attempt to decorate my house and scrapbook and take wonderful pictures of my kids, but I think there's a reason I was a Biology Major, ya know? Other than that, I just live every day doing glamorous things like cleaning baby bums, cleaning the house, paying bills, feeding kids, negotiating with a 3 year old, etc. (it's not as depressing as it sounds:) . But ya, that's my life in a teeny tiny nutshell. I still really miss my friends down in Utah, but I hope to do a better job at keeping in touch in the future. Thanks to Ali for putting together the BHS website. It's been fun to see what everyone else has been up to.
