Lost tooth!

Whitney lost her first tooth tonight. I don't know who was more excited, her or Tyler. He kept saying "Whitney, I'm so proud of you!". He really was so proud of her and so excited for her.
This is the letter Whitney wanted to leave for the tooth fairy: (In case you don't read Kindergarten: "Dear Tooth Fairy I love you") The tooth is in that little tooth shaped box. The top slides over and there's a space for some quarters. I got it at a baby shower for Whitney. I have been waiting 6 years to use it!)

Kids are so fun.

P.S. Nothing is wrong with Whitney's eyes, she just has some left over make up on. You should have seen her before this... WOW. I think maybe the tooth fairy needs to burglarize Whitney's make-up stash. I don't even know how this stuff gets into our house!

Projects completed!

I've been wanting to get this growth chart done for awhile and I finally got the vinyl made to do it! Whitney picked out the color and I was a little unsure of it, but since I was going to put it in the laundry room and that room is already pretty bright, I thought- what the heck. I actually really like the turquoise and am glad she talked me in to it.

This desk was mine when I was younger. I have repainted it before, but it needed to be freshened up. I painted the whole thing white and then bought these lovely drawer pulls. I love the pink crystal and of course, Miss Whitney does to.

This is the only before shot I could find. (We like to keep our rooms tidy as you can clearly see here.)
I reupholstered the seat too. It wasn't my first choice of fabric (those are tiny pink hearts- but look like polkadots), but we don't have the biggest fabric store up here,so it will have to do. It's subtle, but still cute. That's what I'm telling myself anyway;)
Anyway, I just thought I'd document a little more of my summer. Wasn't I going to take a break from crafting this summer?

July so far...

Below are just a bunch of random pictures that I wanted to document some July events with...

A friendly little snake we found on our driveway.

The creatures around here definitely keep me on my toes!
We went to a Lincoln County Centennial celebration. The highlight for the kiddos was the candy cannon.
How cool (not creepy) is this Abe Lincoln impersonator?!
A new plaque they unveiled at the celebration with the present and past Lincoln County Officials.
This little guy was happy as long as he always had a treat in his mouth.
Me and my favorite little girl...
Me and one of my favorite little boys...
 Gettysburg  Address...
For my birthday (celebrated on the 2nd) I didn't want to go out to eat or do anything that meant I would have to wrangle kids or walk around a ton so this is what I did (pedicure). It doesn't look that great here, because I had to put my feet back into my running shoes since my feet and my flip flops basically hate each other right now. The paint is a little messed up, but I wasn't really doing it for the polish. The massage felt great.
We went to our dear friend's house for dinner and fireworks. The kids played kickball and just generally had a great time. I sure do love backyards and summer.

On the 4th, we did a few sparklers. Good times were had by all.
