Off to School...

Whitney started Kindergarten yesterday. There haven't been any tears yet- by her or me-Tyler has come close, but he's dealing with it.

I'm so happy for her to start this part of her life. I have very fond memories of my elementary "career" so I was eager to have her start her own memories and experiences. She had a great day. I love this shot of her RUNNING off the bus. She was all business.

Last Hurrah of the Summer

We went to Grandma and Grandpa's cabin this weekend. We were welcomed by this amazing rainbow. I've never seen a rainbow that close up. The view from the cabin is pretty dang cool. My sister's family and my brother's family were able to come too. Zach has a cousin that is 3 weeks older than him. I think they will be great friends. Looks like Zach is already teasing him.
The day we went boating was pretty windy so there was not a whole lot of water play going on. AJ and I did a little tubing and I think it was the scariest ride of my life. I've made a goal to do something once a year that scares me (besides public speaking) and this will qualify for this years scary experience. The kids just had fun running around outside. Here's them playing a little game of "duck duck goose" in a straight line with lawn darts. Not quite sure on that one.
Grandpa stocked the pond with a bunch of these little guys. Josh and the kids had fun catching them. Very pretty fish. We sure do love the cabin.

Baby Z at 3 months...

At three months, I feel like I am really enjoying this little guy and not sweating the small stuff so much. I guess that's what happens with the third baby. Another way to say that last sentence is that I spoil this kid A LOT! He is held and rocked whenever he wants. He's just such a cuddly little bug and I'm so tired that I quite enjoy rocking him to sleep in my cozy chair too! I know I'll pay for it later, but as for now, I just enjoy my little chunkaluv time as much as I can.

At three months Zach weighs 15 lbs. and I'm not sure on the length, but he's gained 2.5 lbs in a month. Pretty impressive for our family.
He has also grown another chin... a very HEALTHY baby! He has held on to his blue eyes and I keep waiting for them to turn brown like everyone elses eyes in our family. I'm hoping they stay blue like mine. He is still adored by Whitney and even Tyler to a certain extent. He only really shows interest if Whitney does. The many moods of Zach...
Happy

Zach attack (crying)startled
surprised
silly

My doctor told me I could give Zach some rice cereal since he wakes up so often at night. He thought this would sit heavier with him overnight. He did pretty good eating it. Can you blame me for spoiling this little guy?!

Random August Haps...

I can't believe summer is almost over. Here are a few random pictures of our August. I wish I would have been better at documenting our summer, but here's what I was able to capture.

After Whitney's bath the other day, I was telling her to bring me a comb so I could comb her hair and this is what she brought me. It is a picture of my hand on a comb combing her hair. The sign obviously means. I'm not allowed to comb her hair. Well played miss Whit.

My future quarterback... This kid throws so much lately, it has really become a problem mainly because I'm unknowingly on the other end of his throws. He really does have quite the arm. He's not doing so hot in the catching game though so I think we'll have to hope for QB.

We went to Cottonwood Lake with some friends, I wish I would have taken more pictures, but here's the two that I actually took. I'm so lucky.

We gave the garden another shot this year and it did pretty well. Whitney has enjoyed doing her part to help out- it is bursting with peas again. They have been quite the yummy snack for us. We can't eat them fast enough!

We are sad to see Summer slip away from us but we're excited for what the rest of the year holds...

Fairytales, sleepovers, swimming & crashes!

While we had our family here for Zach's baby blessing, we did some fun things during the week. Here are just a few:

There's a traveling fairytale exhibit that has come to our town and Whitney is crazy about it. She has been there twice so far and really loves it. Of course we had to dress up for the occasion...Cinderella's pumpkin carriage.

Climbing up the beanstalk...(Jack and the beanstalk)
Not sure on this one. Just a cute throne.Tyler doing some of Cinderella's chores...
Whitney and Tyler had a little sleepover with some of their cousins that they don't see very often from Texas. They all play so well with each other. Swimming...

Demolition Derby

Thanks to all that made the trip up. It was so much fun for us to have you with us this week and weekend.
Long live summer...

Family Cookout at Cottonwood

Food,
Family and fun. It doesn't get much better than this...

Zachary's blessing day...

We had a wonderful week as we were able to have lots of family come up and be here for Zachary's baby blessing. Great Grandma has never missed any of her great grandkids baby blessings. Baby's really do bring families closer together. This is Zach and his cousin Seth, they are about 3 weeks apart. My sister and I seem to have kids within a few weeks of each other. It's so fun to have kids close in age. I am overwhelmed by all of the sacrifices that were made to get so much family up to our house. It really means the world to us. We really enjoyed having everyone here to support us. Just a few pics of Zach on his blessing day.
