Random January

 January was pretty low key, which I like. Here are a few random shots that I took off of my phone.

This note explains the steps to make a "bort hog home". Basically it's Zach's way of setting up his bed. (1st. Put stuff anamals in bed 2nd. Hang blankest on the rale 3rd. check inside 4th. get decerations 5th. make walls bed)

 

We played a lot of "Payday", which was my favorite board game growing up.  Somehow the kids beat me every time...

 I just took this picture to show that massiveness of "Cougar", our cat. Oh, how we love our fat cat.

 

Watching the Sand Devils is always a treat. 

Tyler and I went out on a date to the "Ranch House Grille". Here, he is trying the lemon...and looking like Mr. Bean.

 There's always some form of wrestling going on around here, it seems.

 

Whitney made some slime...This girl loves to get dirty. It's so strange to me, but it's just part of her charm, I guess. 

Zach made some "potions".

 We played a few games of "KUUB". Taylor and Amanda gave us this game and it's pretty fun!

 You can't really tell, but there are geese in this picture. They always fly so low and are so loud. I think it's cool. I love the birds that don't sell out and fly to warmer climates in the winters...

 The kids surprised us with this little poster one Sunday morning. It wasn't even Valenties day! They are such sweet kids...(mostly)

Trip to Brianhead Ski Resort

 So, anyone who really knows me, knows that I really hate to be cold, but ironically, I LOVE to ski. To me, skiing gives purpose to winter. I love being up in the mountains with icy air running through my lungs. I love the sparkly white snow against the blue sky. It's magical. And, I just love skiing down a hill! I love that my whole family can ski and that we can all pretty much keep up with each other. I SO wish we had a ski resort closer, but I'll take what I can get in Brianhead. We had a great, day, although it started out a little rough with 9 degree temps! By the end of the day we were toasty and feeling great. Here's some shots of our day...

Pinewood Derby!

 This was Tyler's first year participating in the Pinewood Derby and it was pretty exciting for him. The scouts designed their cars and Brother Beckwith "cut" them out for them. We had fun as we watched his car race. He won 1st place in his den and 1st place in his pack. He got to go to the district competition a few days later and placed 5th. He's a cute little derby racer...

Blue Pools Hike

 We took a hike to the Blue Pools area and explored around a bit. Here's a bit of what that looked like.  

 Josh hiked ALL the way to the top of this arch.You can barely see him. He's pretty much an expert hiker...

 The rest of us preferred to stay a little closer to the ground.

 Luckily this little guy was dead before we found him.

 Selfies are always a good option when you are waiting for someone to hike to the top of a cliff...
