Memorial Day

Keep in mind that this blog is my scrapbook. There will be LOTS of pictures here:)
We went south for the weekend and didn't really find the warmth I was hoping for, but here are some pics of what we were up to:

We went to an air show and saw the Thunderbirds. I can't believe how fast and LOUD those jets were. It
was awesome and almost pretty how they moved together!
The kids had lots of fun playing with their cousins:

Jumping off the stairs:
Late night cake and cookies:

 Watching movies:

4 wheeler rides:
Playing at the pond:
These girls were so cute as they searched for frogs and squealed when they jumped out of their hands. I still can't get over how unafraid of slimy things Whitney is. Pretty sure her favorite creatures are worms. She makes homes for them and "rescues" them. I love how much she likes to play and discover outside. Makes my life a little easier ;)
Here are some pictures that Josh shot. There are quite a few Moose that roam the cabin property, so the boys went out to get a better look and to snap some photos, paparazzi style.
I just love how odd these creatures look. They're so large, but also lanky, and a little creepy. Very cool.

Well that was our weekend. Good times:)

YooooooGabbaZacha!

So the theme of Zach's birthday party was Yo Gabba Gabba. He's a huge fan, as you may already know. Here are some pics of his big day:
He woke up to a few decorations and was pretty pumped about them, as were the other kids....
Caught picking batter off the beater...
Brobee. (He's actually my least favorite from Gabba Land, but I wasn't going to attempt to make a DJ Lance cake. Not sure who Zach likes the most. This one seemed like the easiest)
Zach was pretty happy about his cake:

Happy Birthday to Mr. Smith

So Josh turned 34 today! All day I thought he was turning 33. I wrote 33 on his birthday card and even on this cake. When he got home, he pointed out the mistake to me and boy did I feel sheepish. I had to do some editing on the cake and card, but in the end Josh wasn't too broken up about it :)
The kids picked out some candles and we had our little party. Sorry about the bad photog skills!
So, anyway, happy 33rd  34th birthday to my Josh. We love you! XO

P.S.
FYI this cake tasted better than it looked.  It was a devils food cake with a dark chocolate ganache on top. The filling was an Oreo cream filling that had cream cheese, sugar and cool whip. Very rich, but very yummy. We have lots of left overs, so please come by and eat a piece!

Making more stuff...

This is another post just for me. I just like to document stuff I make because there might come a day when I'm not so crafty. I want to have documentation that I once was crafty:)

I made an angry birds pizza for Tyler since he went 2 weeks without playing angry birds. (He was OBSESSED. He was getting way to serious about it. He hasn't played it or any computer games for over a month now. He just gets WAY too into them).
I'm back to using up scrap fabric. I love making these infant dresses. If anyone is having a baby in October, let me know and I'll send one along!
Here are some more baby gifts I've been making. I was needing gifts for boys since it seems like more boys have been born lately. They're just burp cloths with an applique on them. So easy, and fun to do while watching TV. I can't watch TV without doing something else. It just feels weird. I'm all about killing TWO birds;)
I made these with our Young Women in our ward. They were super easy and inexpensive. I bought the canvases on Amazon, designed the vinyl and then had the vinyl made. Probably cost us $4 total- they are way more on etsy. So, if you need an easy craft for youth, this is a good one. (This is the 2012 YW theme)
Anyway, that's all I've got documented for now. If anyone wants to make any of this stuff, let me know and I can send you the info/files to do them.

Mothers Day

Well, this is a post for me, not so much for you. I just want to document some of the highlights of this mothers day before I forget or loose some of these cute keepsakes. This is a package from Whitney. I'm a fan of the wrapping paper.

Inside was a book that she wrote. Below are pics of each page. I will definitely treasure this one.
This is the cover. A picture of us on the tramp.

Then on Sunday the kids and Josh got together an made me this card. In case you can't read it, it says " Dear Mom: I love you. We do not want you to die before us. Love Whitney, Dad and Tyler.(Morbid, but sweet)
This was what Zach made for me in nursery.

I'm including this picture just because I think these guys look so darn cute in muscle shirts. Tyler thinks he looks so cool in his muscle shirt. One day they'll grow up and it won't be so cool to wear muscle shirts. But for now I just think it's entertaining. Anyway, it was a great mother's day. I feel so blessed and humbled to have these three little babies to take care of. They drive me absolutely nuts most of the time, but I feel lucky just the same:)

I Heart Global Warming...

We've had an unseasonably warm spring. My friend told me that WYDOT told her that they were running plows this time last year. Crazy!

Well today we busted out the slip n slide after school!
We've been playing out on the tramp a bunch because of the amazing weather. I think that is my kids #1 favorite thing to do with me right now. They think it's so fun to get popped and to jump with me and play games on the tramp. I secretly love it too. I think trampolines are SO fun. I only wish I had the skillz I used to have back in the day...When I get tired of jumping, we do "rocket" or "airplane". Every time I do this, I think "this would be a fun picture". So here's the view of the "rocket launcher". Tyler could do this all day long. If you want a good workout, play on the tramp with your kids! We've got all sorts of launching tricks.

We were even able to get out on the lake!

If you're wondering what crazy looks like, here it is:
Josh shimmied his way into his wet suit and went water skiing... in MAY...at Palisades!
Here's some pictures of the rest of the crazies...
dancing

Oh, I just want to eat this one up.
Here's me trying to look like I know what the H I'm doing.
 The spotters.

Anyway, I know we will most likely pay for this good weather at some point, but we sure are trying to enjoy it while it's here. Cross your fingers this Global warming thing continues to work in our favor:)
