The Hog 'N Jog 5K

I thought it would be a good idea for our family to do a hard thing together. Well, like most of what I do, it sort of flopped. I trained a bit with Zach, but not as much as I would have liked to He always had an excuse, and I always had something I could do instead so I allowed his excuses. Anyway, he actually did pretty good and enjoyed the race. He didn't run the whole thing, but that's OK! Let's just say the other two HATED the race. They thought they didn't have to train, so they didn't. Lesson learned there. Anyway, I like to think that the kids learned some lessons through this bacon themed race day...

Field Trippin' to Lee's Ferry

I was able to tag a long on Zach's 2nd grade field trip to Lee's Ferry, Navajo Bridge and Lonely Dell Ranch. I loved hiking with these cute kiddos. Zach has so many friends and it was fun to see him in his element.

Flying Kites...

We've had a few windy days, so we pulled out the kite and it was pretty hilarious. I love flying kites, but something weird was happening this day. Eventually things clicked when we went to the school and got caught some better wind and the kids could fly the kite...

Lower Antelope Hike

A couple of the touring companies around here were giving free tours to locals last weekend. I called "mandatory fun" and dragged my little family with me and told them to appreciate this place that half of Asia and Europe travels to see each summer.  Because you know I'm not about to pay that kind of money to go hike these caves! It was unlike any hike we have ever done. These skinny caves have been hammered with water and wind which makes them so beautiful (I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere;) So, we hiked down the metal stairs and into these beautiful cracks in the Earth. It was a short hike with lots of beauty. My ideal hike... I took so many pictures.  These are just a few favs. Full disclosure: The rocks do not look orange like this. I know that's so disappointing. It was for me. They change the settings on your camera when you go in.

So happy that Spring is starting to show up around here... Although, I'm not sure we ever had winter, did we???
