Random March

We sure enjoyed March. The weather was pretty dreamy for the most part. Here are some random highlights...

Tyler got a puzzle from his teacher and we (me) finished it!
I got a new camera lens for Christmas and I tried it out on the kids...and cat.
Tyler helping Zach with his tie...
Tyler continues to improve on his skateboard...

(Zach has a cute little friend, Maggie, that comes over to play. She's such a cutie.)

We played "chopped" and the kids made treats for me. The ingredients were ice cream, graham crackers and chocolate. Yes, I was super daring. I didn't want to eat anything weird.

We has some pretty serious wind. The kids went outside to play in it! I was afraid one of them would blow away! It was crazy!
We took a trip to St. George to do some temple work and also to play. Swimming is always a highlight for the kiddos.

We hit a buffet and the kids were SO happy about it. Who doesn't like gummy bears and jelly beans on their jello!?

Poor Zach...
Whitney made a cool replica of a plant cell. She made it using things around the house. This was a project I would have loved to do! Science and art together !

Whitney and I went to the Relief Society birthday party where we played a few minute to win it games . Whitney was really good at the games!
It started to feel more like spring, so we are back to playing on the tramp, well the kids never stopped, but Josh and I may even be inclined to jump!
Whitney is running for student council so Josh and I made a few posters for her...

Tyler wrapped up a fun season of basketball. Here are a couple of his close friends.

Tyler and Josh went fishing with the Nolans. Can't believe we are at the lake in March!
Happy Spring!

Spring Breakin' 2017

Our Spring Break adventure took us to Dallas this year. It was such a fun and worthwhile trip. We were spoiled with lots of family time, great food and entertainment. This made for happy faces all week long... Here are some pictures of our fun.

We drove to Phoenix in the morning and I had to get a picture of these cacti. It's just something that I'm not used to. I think they're pretty.
Once at the airport, the boys were quite impressed with the sky train.
Our first stop was 6 Flags over Texas. We surprised the kids that morning and told them we were going on a hike. They definitely approved of this Saturday morning "hike".
Granny and Pops and the Hafen cousins joined us and boy did they all have fun...

The kids got soaked on one of the rides, but clearly this didn't do anything to dampen their spirits...
This was the ride I really wanted to go on. It seems like it would be the ultimate in scary.  I didn't want to wait 2 hours though, so I just had to look at it from afar...

 6 flags...

Poor Granny and Pops were the ones to get the wettest.

Zach was pretending to shoot things from his swing. I love this kids imagination.

The kids waiting to get soaked!

Then, we were able to go to a family birthday party. We don't get to hit many of those, so when we do, it's always extra special. Grace is just about the cutest little girl you'll ever meet. Not sure I've met a happier child.

Oh Emily...
Taking rides on Pop's new motorcycle.

They have a cool park with zip lines. The kids were so happy to play there.

The adults went to Top Golf one night. It was super fun and I'd love to go back.

Shots from our morning walk. The kids loved walking Maggie in the mornings. This particular morning, we walked past a warehouse where they were painting and building dinosaurs. It was so random, but a fun surprise!

 Texas is so pretty.
 Maggie taking a dip.

More cousin time at the movies...
Then we went to a Ninja training type gym. The kids had a blast and were even sore the next day. We also played a little dodge ball. Josh is in his element playing dodge ball...

Zach, trying to pull Emily out of the foam blocks.
Of course we found a pool and went there with cousins.

We even had an outdoor movie at the Hafen's house. Such a fun backyard!

Josh and Lucy. She was a big fan of Josh. He had to explain what a bubble was and how he had a pretty big bubble. It was so hilarious to see her get all up in Josh's "space". She doesn't really care about personal space and we love her for it! Ha!
Whitney and Maddi
The kids love Maggie the dog.
We were sad to say goodbye to Texas...
Zach, sporting his wings on his shirt. People are so nice in Texas.
And one last picture from the airport. Tyler wanted a picture by this race car. He looks so COOOOOOL.
We are so glad we were able to get to Dallas this year. It's been way too long since we were there. We felt so spoiled to be able to spend so much quality time with family. We are energized and ready to tackle the last two months of school. Summer can't come soon enough;)
